Avatar (James Cameron) Movie Haiku

December 21, 2009 1 comment

Went to the Movies
To see action in 3-D
The IMAX sold out.

The regular screen
Was still available to
Play the film 3-D

Did not expect much
Story to come from this film.
Heard lots of bad things.

I was pleasently
Surprised with a deeper film
Than I expected.

The imagery was
extremely beautiful
and believable.

The story was thoughtful.
it followed similar plots
from other movies.

It just did it in
a way I have never seen
before in a film.

It reminded me
of the film “Dances with Wolves”
A true love story

Story of passion;
Learning about each other
Protecting that love

I don’t buy movies
much in this economy.
I’ll buy this movie.

You should go see it
While they play it in 3-D
You won’t regret it.

This set of haiku are only available here on this weblog. You can read more of my Haiku in my book called Heckava Haiku. You can download it for free here before you buy it.

The President had a Beer with Citizens on the Lawn of the Whitehouse… A Beer Summit… How Cool is That?!

I couldn’t believe it when I heard that the president was trying to settle a major conflict between Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Sgt. James Crowley on the lawn of his presidential home; a conflict that should never have been major. It is awesome. I have never heard of a president going out of his way to settle the problems of the citizens personally. Usually it is done through legislation or the court system or something other than getting personally involved.

This is one of the things that I really like about President Obama. He gets in there and spends time with the people he leads. The other big thing is he drinks in public. He has a beer socially. I can’t remember any other president ever doing that. Right after he was elected, he was observed going to a basketball game and drinking a beer. He is real. He is American. I just have to say I am impressed.

What do you think?
